Oh Brother

Two of my brothers and their wives came to town to visit. One from out of state and one from a different part of California. My two brothers who live close by also joined in the fun. We were pleased to have the company of three of my beautiful adult nieces.

Highlights included:

My brother recording our 93 year old father reminiscing about his life. (3 hours worth!)

Some live bluegrass music, courtesy of two brothers and some good friends.

Alot of laptops, we are quite a "techie" family.

At one point there were five of us with laptops running.

I love my big brothers and their families. I feel very blessed to be part of this big family. We had a fantastic visit. To check out more photostory friday posts click here.

That looks like a blast! I have uncles who show up to family parties with their guitars, and musical mayhem ensues.
I'm jealous of the banjo player.

Enjoy that great family.

That sounds like fun. I can totally imagine the whole family gathered around and all absorbed on their own laptops!

I recorded my grandmother talking about her life. She ended up passing away just one week later. I was soooo glad I had done it.

It is so wonderful to learn more about your family. We had a family reunion last summer and my cousin videotaped all of my living uncles and aunts telling stories of their childhood. He then put it together in the most amazing DVD with still shots of their parents and siblings who hare no longer living. It is such a special gift that he gave to all of us. You will cherish that video. What fun your family had and I am sure the wine flowed freely to celebrate the occasion. Wonderful post!

Lovely. I can't say our family visits go as smoothly, but it sounds delightful.

You will be happy you recorded your father and his stories. It is great that we live in an era where technology to makes that possible.
